Cambium Networks - What we know so far

Cambium Networks’ UK business has entered administration. Here is what customers need to know about products, support and cnMaestro access.

Following rumours last weekend and confirmation that Cambium Networks Limited has entered administration, we are working with our UK distributor to understand the implications. Our immediate priority is continuity for customers, particularly access to the cnMaestro management platform.

Cambium Networks Limited, the principal UK trading entity within the Cambium group, entered administration on 14 September. The announcement followed several days of uncertainty, with rumours beginning to circulate last weekend about the company’s financial position and the future of its operations.

For organisations using Cambium wireless, switching or security products, the immediate questions concern product availability, technical support and continued access to the cnMaestro management platform. We are already contacting our affected customers directly, so existing Oxspring customers do not need to take any action at this stage.

What has been confirmed

The joint administrators have said they are pursuing potential going-concern transactions. Cambium expects its fixed wireless broadband business to resume after a relatively short pause, although production of Wi-Fi access points, NSE devices and cnMatrix switches has stopped. Existing finished stock remains with Cambium, distributors and in transit, and distributors may continue selling that inventory at their discretion.

This means the position may differ by product family, stock availability and support requirement. Organisations considering new purchases should assess availability and operational continuity rather than assume that every Cambium product or service is affected in the same way.

The key unresolved issue: cnMaestro

The most pressing concern is cnMaestro, Cambium’s platform for centrally managing supported network infrastructure. Our UK distributor has advised that cnMaestro Cloud may no longer support Enterprise devices from 1 October 2026. It remains unclear which cloud and licensing services will continue beyond that date.

Loss of cloud management would not ordinarily cause deployed access points and network infrastructure to stop operating. Devices should continue using their existing configuration. However, organisations could lose the ability to monitor, manage and make changes to those devices centrally through cnMaestro Cloud.

Cambium has provided guidance on moving to an on-premises installation of cnMaestro, hosted either on an organisation’s own virtual infrastructure or in a private hosting environment. This may offer a practical route for customers using Essentials functionality. Customers using cnMaestro X or other licensed features face additional questions, particularly concerning licensing and connectivity to Cambium’s Cloud Anchor infrastructure.

We are assessing these options with our UK distributor. The appropriate response will depend on the products deployed, the cnMaestro edition in use and the operational requirements of each network. We will communicate directly with customers as firmer information becomes available.

What Oxspring customers should do

Do not make rushed changes. We are reviewing the position and contacting customers whose environments may be affected. Our priority is to understand each deployment, identify any material risk and provide proportionate advice based on confirmed information.

As a precaution, organisations should ensure that current configurations, device inventories and licensing details are recorded while the relevant services remain accessible. Any decision about management platforms, replacement products or future purchasing should reflect the design of the network and the operational consequences of change.

Guidance for the wider Cambium community

Organisations that do not work with Oxspring should contact their existing reseller or distributor to confirm product availability, support arrangements and their exposure to cnMaestro. They should also record the devices, licences and management services currently in use so that they can assess options quickly if the situation changes.

The administration process is moving quickly, and some details remain unresolved. We will update this article when there is clearer information about cnMaestro and the future of the relevant Cambium product lines.
